Information we may collect
We collect information so that we can provide better and customised services to all our reading and writing partners. We gather information about what Opined pages you access, information that you gave us while registering with us, the information we get from your use of our services, such as devise information, log information, location information, cookies or similar technologies, and referral information.
When you use our services, we may collect and store your Internet Protocol address. We may use this information to fight spam and other abuse; to generate aggregate, non-identifying information about how people use Opined Services.
When you create you Opined account, and authenticate via third-party services such as Twitter or Facebook, we may collect, store, and periodically update the contact lists associated with that third-party account, so you can connect with existing contacts from that service who are on Opined. We may use this information towards aggregating responses you might have received while sharing your work on third-party platforms.
Transparency and Choice
People have different privacy concerns. Our goal is to be clear about what information we collect so that you can make meaningful choices about how it is used. To stay committed to the goal, we provide you with options to review and update your controls through privacy settings. You may also set your browser to block all cookies, including cookies associated with our services. However, it is important to remember that many of our services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled. For example, we may not remember your language preference.
Information you share
While using Opined services, you can share and publish your information with others in your circle or publicly, as per your preferences. Remember that when you share information publicly, it may be indexable by search engines. Our services provide you with different options for sharing and removing your content.
Communication from Opined
Sometimes we will send administrative emails about account or service changes, or new policies. You can’t opt out of them. Apart from emails, we may provide you with notification about the latest trends and activities in your circle. You can always opt out of such notifications and non-administrative emails such as daily digests.
We never email you to ask for your password or other personal account information. If you receive such an email, send it to us so we can investigate and take necessary actions.
Information we may share
We do not share or sell personal information with companies, organisation, and individuals outside of Opined unless in limited circumstances, including: (1) with your consent; (2) to a vendor or partner who meets out data protection standards; or (3) when we have a good faith belief it is required by law.
If we are going to share your information in response to legal process, we will give you advance notice so you can challenge it, unless we are prohibited from doing so by law or court order. We will object to requests for information about users of our site that we believe to be improper.
We may share non-personally identifiable information publicly and with our partners, such as publishers, advertisers or connected sites.
We use third-party vendors and hosting partners for hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology we need to run Opined. We maintain two types of logs: server logs and event logs.
We use encryption (HTTPS/TLS) to protect data transmitted to and from our site. However, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee security. You use the Service at your own risk, and you’re responsible for taking reasonable measures to secure your account (like using a strong password).
Changes to this Policy
Opined may periodically update this Policy. We’ll notify you of significant changes to it. The most current version of the policy will always be here and we will archive former versions.
We welcome questions, concerns, and feedback about this policy at [email protected]
