Happy Independence Day 🇮🇳

Ofcourse its a proud moment. We are an Independent nation since last 71 years. There has been so many developments in terms of infrastructure, modernism, facilities and many others. But still, are we really living in a free nation??

If yes then..

Why is a father still afraid to send his daughter to persue her dreams and live independently in another city?

Why do we still can’t marry someone whom we really connect to and want to just because of caste and religion differences?

Why do a girl always has to carry some protection stuff in her handbag and has to look back again and again, if she is walking in a street alone at night?

Why do a father still has to spend his lifetime savings for his daughters marriage and has to put down his self respect just because “Wo ladke wale hai” ??

Why are daughters still being tortured and killed for dowry?

Why still a newborn baby girl dumped in a dustbin, thrown in garbage or even killed?

Why the richer gets more respect and the poor is disrespected?

Why are people judged from the state they belong to? Why can’t there be just one identification of being an Indian?

Why are farmers and labors paid the minimum wages? Those are one because of whom we are able to live such comfortable life’s.

Why are the soldiers who are protecting us and because of whom we are actually able to live our life’s, not given any recognition?

And why is the list of such issues not ending and I had to think so much while writing on the developments?

Yes we are independent and we love being called as an Indian..  Yes there have been many changes in the society especially in the last decade. We are now allowed to live independently and persue our dreams. Love marriages are not that big issues now. There are more jobs in market and many platforms of earnings have been introduced.
But, after all this still we live with fear. And still more than half of our population is facing all the above mentioned issues.
So, to be actually called a free nation we need real freedom. Freedom for our poor to get food. Freedom for our women to feel safe. Freedom to the new born girl child to live. Freedom of choice to marry someone we want. Freedom of achieving our dreams. Freedom to travel safely. Freedom to our farmers to live with dignity. Freedom to live. Freedom to love.
