Shah Rukh Khan can’t get zeroed out – Because business mindedness overshadows the acting skills

Even if Harry didn’t meet Sejal, SRK’s raees (rich) status couldn’t be reduced to ‘zero’.

He is the most intelligent mind in a hard-fought business called “movies”.

Shah Rukh has ruled over Bollywood for the last 26 years. He is fondly called “King of Romance” and “Biggest Superstar of Bollywood” and enjoys gigantic stardom nationally as well as globally.

Having 10 consecutive hits to his name, SRK is placed third in the “Bollywood Actors with most consecutive hits” list, only behind Rajesh Khanna and Salman Khan.

However, his films in recent few years have disappointed public, critics and box office pundits hugely. SRK registered his last blockbuster film in 2013 with the release of “Chennai Express” which went on to earn gross revenue of ₹ 424 crores at the box office.

Since then, he has experimented with his roles, yet the audience and critics have rejected the movies outright.

Has it impacted SRK as an actor? – Surely, it has. However, SRK, as a businessman, isn’t affected a bit.

SRK’s professional life gives us a few vital learnings – embrace the failure and persist with a tough period. More than that, it gives us deep insights into the practical world of investment and business and how a successful entrepreneur should react during adverse situations.

SRK’s net worth is still rising

Despite back-to-back flops and aged personality resulting in loss of valuable endorsements such as Nerolac Paints, SRK’s net worth is estimated to be approximately USD 600 million in 2019, making him one of the richest actors in the world.

His net worth is increasing every day, as he is earning roughly USD 38 million every year (according to Forbes).

How is this miracle happening? – SRK and his company Red Chillies Entertainment earn profits out of the flop movies too. Even before a film is released, most of the income is made by selling satellite, digital and music rights at a high price.

Strict ‘NO’ to borrowings from banks or distributors

When you borrow money from others, you are accountable for repaying it in the stipulated period. However, you are free to use your own money, in whichever way you want.

SRK never borrows money from funding institutions or banks. He invests his own money into the films, which gives twofer benefits – he can live his passion and take risks without asking from anyone else; secondly, the entire profit belongs to him and his company.

Not just movies, SRK has other avenues too

Shah Rukh Khan seems to follow Warren Buffett’s investment advice religiously –

“Don’t put all eggs in one basket.”

SRK allocates his investments in three channels – Movies (Film Production and Distribution Company - Red Chillies Entertainment and VFX Studio – Red Chillies VFX), Sports (Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL, Trinbago Knight Riders in Caribbean Premier League and The Global League in South African Premier League) and Children’s Education and Entertainment (KidZania).

It means he can easily pull off money from one channel to invest in others. Whichever market flourishes, he will always earn higher returns on the investment.

In a nutshell, startup owners and entrepreneurs have a lot to learn from the “King Khan” in terms of risk taking capability and management of finance. It also shows that even if his movies are not liked as much as previously, SRK will continue to “raaj” (rule) on the Indian Bollywood Industry.

Good time ahead too for SRK beloved fans!
