Was Voting For Narendra Modi A Correct Option?

Narendra Modi : A name almost on the lips of every Indian today. Narendra Damodaras Modi is an Indian politician, a part of Bhartiya Janta Party, is currently serving as the 14th Prime Minister of India. Modi headed the elections in 2014 which resulted in BJP getting a majority in 2014 elections. Narendra Modi (born on 17th September 1950) took birth in the family of grocers in Vadnagar, Bombay State. During his childhood days, Narendra Modi helped his father sell tea at the Railway Station and had a tea stall along with his brother.

So was voting for Narendra Modi a correct decision? There always has been a question lingering around and the common masses debating, if Narendra Modi failed as a Prime Minister or leading the nation from a developing to developed country. One should agree that building a country with of population of almost 125 crores is a huge challenge. Several critics also label Narendra Modi's travels as a pointless and a needless waste of time and money. But let's see what did the foreign travels actually yield? The first and foremost is that Satya Nadella (Microsoft), Indra Nooyi (Pepsico), Sheryl Sandberg and Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Jeff Bezos (Amazon) have discussed possible investments. America has decided to a Nuclear Power deal with India to supply 500 tonnes Uranium to India. 35 billion dollar investment from Japan over a period of 5 years, along with their expertise for bullet trains. 2 billion Euros support from France for sustainable in India. Canada has agreed to supply 3,000 metric tonnes of Uranium to India for powering the Indian Atomic Reactors. Increased relationship with Japan led to the investment worth $30 Billion in Dmic (Delhi-Mumbai Investment Corridor). Till now India was in a situation where we were buying Nuclear Reactors from Russia and the USA  and it was a weird situation. They gave us only what they opted to. Now with some convincing from our Prime Minister France has agreed to provide India with Nuclear Reactors with the latest technology in India (Make in India). FDI has increased by 56% this year. With so many major powers, countries, and companies investing in our country, one cannot justify the travels as pointless! 

Also not to forget that the international interest is increasing for the Make in India campaign. Initiatives such as Jan Dhan Yojana and Cheap Pension and Insurance Scheme have been successful. If Narendra Modi goes forward for liberalizing the economy there will be more opportunities and jobs for the youth. Are you aware of the National Nutrition Mission? This scheme was launched as an expansion for Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Programme. This main motive of this programme is to attain the proper nutritional status among children from 0-6-year-olds, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers in a timely manner. This scheme's main aim is to reduce the low birth weight by at least 2% per annum.

At each milestone set, we should look at the actions of the government. Also, the citizens must observe the ground level impact on issues the government was responsible to act on. I could list a majority of things which had a positive effect on India such as inflation being controlled, opportunities and priority for entrepreneurship, special task force being created to bring back the black money from abroad, Clean India. providing urban facilities in Rural India, economic reformation, increased growth rates, schemes, programmes, and plans being implemented. 

Let's also take a look from the critic's point of view. The first thing they are going to shout that 'Demonetization was a major failure'.  Was demonetization a failure? With 4000Cr of black money being caught, it cannot be defined as a failure. But yes, certainly one must say that the plan should be more "planned". On the other hand, India's GDP growth fell by 2% with GVA falling more than 3%. The belief that the economic slowdown will end after April, 17 when remonetization was completed, has been far from the truth. Corruption was on major par when the NaMo government came into action. But we have to agree that in today's era there is not a single party which we can be labeled as purely corruption free. A single law and a single person cannot alone fight against the dirty virus of corruption. One major success is that none of his ministers have been under the bad light of corruption till now. But still, the government is trying.

Many of the major things can only become successful if we the Indians stop playing the blame game. All of us individually have to stop waiting for the change but rather we should starting being the change. Today India has changed from cash transaction to electronic transaction, there has been a 7% growth rate after implementation of GST, Barack Obama visited India on several occasions such as the event of Republic Day, and many more. 

So is India really changing under Narendra Modi? Was voting for Narendra Modi a correct decision? You Decide.
